David Fong

David Fong has been the Director of Operations for Cathay Medical Industries since 1982. In 1999, he was appointed to the California Pharmacists Association Medi-Cal Advisory Committee, meeting quarterly with senior management from the California State Department of Health Services. He served as Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Pharmacy Network’s Executive Committee, representing over 15,000 independent community pharmacies nationwide.

David was President of the East Los Angeles Pharmacists Association in 1994 and District 7 Trustee for the California Pharmacists Association from 1995 to 1997. He chaired the Los Angeles County Managed Care Pharmacy Task Force and its Core Group in 1995.

In 1996, David was President of the United Pharmacists Network Inc. (UPNI), later serving as Vice President of Managed Care and Marketing and Executive Director from 2009 to 2010.

Since 1995, David has been active in various LA Care Health Plan committees, including the Interim Executive Consumer Advisory Committee (1995-1997) and the Technical Advisory Committee (1996-2000), chairing the latter in 1999. He also chaired the LA Care Health Plan Timely Payment Task Force from 1996 to 2000.

David was a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees for LA Care Health Plan and InterValley Health Plan, representing independent community pharmacies in Los Angeles County. In 1997, he was named the California Pharmacists Association Pharmacist of the Year.

Currently, he is the Vice President of Network Operations for Alpha Plus Network Inc., creating strategic and clinical programs for independent community pharmacy members.

David has been married for over 41 years and has 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
